Nautical Pre-Sea training consists of three (3) terms. The duration of each term is 15 weeks. In the first phase of Nautical branch the cadets undergo a rigorous regime of academic, practical and physical training. Beginning with reinforcing concepts Math and Physics and their practical application on board ships, the cadets are introduced to the various aspects of Navigation, Chart work, Seamanship, Cargo Operations, Ship Construction and Stability, Meteorology, Geography, Communications, Navigation Aids with focus on Radar/ARPA and ECDIS. Cadets undergo practical hands-on training in Bridge Watch Keeping and Steering on Navigation Simulators.
