Engineering Dimensional Control & Workshop Skills

This 30 hours, one (1) week course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, understanding and skills in basic engineering measurement. Further, it introduces participants to the strategies for extraction of linear and angular dimensional information from drawings and how to use this information to measure and record the dimensions of engineering components in practical metalworking.

Small Engines

During this half-day course, participants are introduced to the field of small engines. They examine the components, functions, construction and operation of these engines, in addition to the theories and technical concepts associated with their usage in commercial, residential, and industrial settings.

Fabrication Processes & Skills

This one (1) week course introduces participants to the processes used in the fabrication industry and to the equipment and machinery used for fabrication purposes. It also enables candidates to recognize the processes used to produce work pieces and/or items from drawings and data sheets.

Preparing and Using Manual Metal Arc (MMA) Welding Equipment

This one (1) week course equips participants with the practical skills in the Manual Arc welding processes using Low Carbon Steel (LCS) in the down-hand or flat and horizontal positions to produce a range of joints within the relevant industrial standards. Participants will be made aware of and practice the relevant health and safety regulations and requirements relating to the welding processes.

Metal Inert (MIG)/Metal Active Gas (MAG) Welding Skills

During this one (1) week course participants are introduced to the practical skills in the MIG/MAG welding process which are used to produce a range of joints within the relevant industrial standards. Participants are made aware of and practice the relevant health and safety regulations and requirements relating to welding processes.

Maritime Tourism and Recreation Management

This course is 24 hours in length. Participants will acquire the knowledge, skills and techniques to manage marine operations in the tourist trade industry. They will utilize their experiences to develop strategies to improve the marine environment and the maritime tourism and recreation sector generally.

Maritime Law for Ship-Owners, Masters, Crew and Port Personnel

This six (6) weeks course introduces participants to international and national laws relevant to the operation of ports and shipboard operations. This exposure will ensure that they are able to meet required legal obligations so as to decrease potential legal liabilities connected with port and marine-based operations.

'B' Captain License

During this six (6) weeks training, participants will acquire practical knowledge and skills in the operation of a single or twin screw craft at sea. They will be exposed to the relevant local and international maritime standards and regulations for safe navigation.

'A' Captain's License Training

Participants holding the 'B' Captain License can undergo training toward acquiring the 'A' Captain License. During this advanced training period, participants engage in more practical sate navigation activities.
