Value Added STCW Training

What is Value Added STCW Training?

STCW Code 1978, as amended, mandates that seafarers undertake personal and professional development activities to keep current in the field and maintain their certifications, through the acquisition of additional skills attained during short modular theoretical courses and practical activities. MMA is an approved institution under the Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) to conduct these training. Following is a list of courses currently offered.
A-Vl /1-1 Personal Survival Techniques
A-Vl/1-2 Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
A-Vl /1-3 Elementary First Aid
A-Vl/1-4 Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
A-Vl /2-1 Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (other than Fast Rescue Boats)
A-Vl/2-3 Advanced Fire Fighting
A-Vl /2-4 Medical First Aid
A-Vl/5 Ship Security Officer
A-Vl /6-1 Security Awareness Training for Seafarers
A-Vl/6-2 Security Awareness Training for Seafarers with Designated Duties
A-IV/2 Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)
A-II/1 Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS)
A-II /1 and 2 Bridge Resource Management
A-III/1 and 2 Engine Resource Management
A-II /1 and 2, A-III/1, 2, 6 Human Element Leadership and Management
A-V/1-1-1 Tanker Familiarization and Tanker Safety
A-V/1-1-1 Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator Training
A-III/1, 2, 6 High Voltage Handling
A-II /1, 2 Hazardous Material Handling Course (HAZMAT)
